It is because of this that I need to look for a VDH alternative that makes downloading easy to do and monitor its progress. Using DownloadHelper, you can easily save videos from most of the popular video sites like. And now it appears that either the video site I use has changed it video player so now HLS streaming is the only thing that shows up in the VDH downloadable files, or the creators of VDH have now changed their program so that downloadable files only show up as HLS streaming files. Video DownloadHelper is a Firefox, Chrome, Edge browser addon. The HLS files are a huge nuisance when it comes to downloading videos off streaming sites. I also have no way of seeing what the download size of the file is which I use a lot to determine if it will be a better quality video than a different file. So I have no way to monitor it, or click the retry circular arrow should the download fail. I absolutely loathe that HLS streaming file as there’s no guarantee that it will even download to my computer as it doesn’t show up in my downloading bar like all the other files did. But just today when I went to use it, instead of showing the video file and size of the download, it just showed that “HLS Streaming” crap.

I’ve been using it for 8 years and it has been wonderful in downloading videos from websites.
